Pray! Pray! Pray!

I have pondered about posting on this subject. I decided to go ahead and post about it, because we need prayers. The girls had started their annual swimming lessons on Monday and so on Tuesday we had just gotten home, when I got the phone call from Jason. He said," I don't want you to panic, but I am headed to the hospital and need a new set of clothes." I immediately panicked and asked, "are you bleeding?" Jas replied, "NO! Something has happened at work and I need to you come to the hospital." I gathered up his clothes as quick as I could and headed out the door. I found out that there had been an industrial accident at TYCO, where he works.

One of his coworkers was working on something inside a tank that contained hydrogen sulfide. Jason's coworker was inside the tank, when he was overcome by the fumes. He passed out and fell into the bottom of the tank. Jason called 911. Another coworker decided that he would get on a safety suit and try to help inside the tank. This coworker could not fit in the tank with his oxygen attatched. He then made the decision to go in with a mask. He passed out and was in the bottom of the tank as well. Jason immediately decided that the only way they were going to get them out was to cut a hole in the side of the tank. Jason cut the hole, and pulled the first man out. They also pulled out the guy that had tried to help. They were unresponsive. Jason and several others were exposed to this hydrogen sulfide. ( A very dangerous chemical!) The fire department and e.m.s. came and took over from there. They were all rushed to the hospital to be hosed down and checked out. Needless to say, it was a very tense and stressful time. I did get in to see Jason. I had to see for myself that he was o.k. He physically looked o.k., but was very shaken up. I hope this makes sense! It has been a very tough week for all involved. I just have to say how proud I am of Jason, for all that he did for his coworkers. A few years ago, TYCO sent him to become first responder trained. All of that training and just his instincts helped save two peoples lives. I am so proud to be his wife.

I would just like to ask if all of you would keep all of the men involved in your prayers. They are all experiencing some post traumatic stress. TYCO is actually bringing in a counselor, today, to talk with all of them. The two men that were in the tank are expected to make a full recovery! PTL!! I thank God everyday, that he put a hedge of protection around Jason.

UPDATE: Jason told me tonight, that his coworker that was in critical condition is expected to be released from the hospital tomorrow! He also told me that the session with the counselor went awesome. God is so Good!
